Policies

Absence Policy
Players participating in Prospects Baseball Academy are expected to make a large commitment of time and effort. All practices, games, and meetings are mandatory unless a player is missing due to an acceptable absence. Acceptable absences include: family emergencies, exams, school practices, sickness. Absences for other reasons such as: forgot about practice, cramming for an exam because of procrastination, going on a date, attending a sporting event…etc, are not acceptable absences and the player will be held accountable.

Be On Time
Players are expected to be on time to all events. For games where there will be no batting practice you must be there 1 hour early. For games where we take batting practice players must be there 1hour and 45 minutes early. The team’s coach will inform you which time will apply. The first late occurrence will result in a conditioning penalty. The second occurrence will result in a playing time penalty. General rule to plan by: if you aren’t 10 minutes early you’re late.

Attire
Players are expected to dress like ballplayers. For games, this means the correct uniform, socks, belt, hat, etc. For indoor practices pants are not necessary, but are required for outdoor practices. Hats must be worn facing the proper way.

Grades
All players must maintain a 3.0 GPA. The top priority for our ballplayers is still to get a good education. If assistance is needed in school we can assist in finding help. The worst thing would be to not be able to play between the lines because of something you can control, like grades. Hard work on the field must be met with hard work in the classroom, period. The higher your GPA, the more marketable you are to a college program.

Game Conduct
Prospects ballplayers will play hard and fair. When between the lines you represent both yourself, your families, and Prospects Baseball Academy. Conduct yourself like a ballplayer and do things the right way. This means, no arguing with the umpires, no jawing with the opposing team, no slamming of equipment, etc…

Road Trips
Players are to conduct themselves with all the values of sportsmanship, honor, and fair play both on and off the field. When on road trips you are representing Prospects Baseball at all times! ex. Let the older lady or woman with two small children in line behind you at the restaurant go in front of you…hold doors open for people, etc…these small efforts go a long way to building a high quality program.
